TWICE triple crown on Oricon Chart

TWICE has set yet another record being the first foreign female artist to achieve a Triple Crown on Orion Chart!

On December 23rd, Japan’s Oricon Chart released end-of-the-year Yearly Sales Rankings for 2017, revealing that TWICE grabbed the No.1 position in the rookie artist total sales chart. Previously, the No.1 spot was taken by EXO in 2016, while KARA took the No.1 spot in the year 2010.

TWICE‘s first Japanese single “One More Time” released on October 18th, and the group’s Japanese debut album “#TWICE” that was released on June 28th, both have previously achieved No.1 spot in the Rookie Artist Album chart. Implying, that this year’s win marks the group’s third time achieving the top spot and hence, setting a new record of being the first female foreign artist to achieve a triple crown on the Oricon chart!

TWICE‘s sales for this year (including singles, albums, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs) have been recorded as 1.54 billion yen (approximately $14.6 million) which earned them the No. 1 spot on the rookie artist total sales chart. TWICE has proved their power not only in Korea but in foreign land as well.

Not just that, TWICE also recently set another record with the MV “TT”, as the first girl group to reach 300 million views on YouTube.

Achieving great success this year, the group is currently preparing to release their second Japanese single “Candy Pop”, on February 7 next year.

Congratulations  to TWICE on achieving a new milestone!
