Red Velvet has debuted on Billboard‘s Canadian HOT 100 chart!
Billboard released its charts for the week ending in February 17th, and Red Velvet‘s track “Bad Boy” from their latest album “The Perfect Red Velvet” has entered the Canadian Hot 100 chart debuting at No. 87. This is the first time that one of the girl group’s songs has ranked on the chart.
The Canadian Hot 100 chart ranks the most popular songs in Canada from all genres each week, and is calculated through a combination of data from radio airplay, sales, and streaming activity.
It is very rare for a song by a K-pop artist to make it to the chart, and Red Velvet is now the second K-pop girl group to achieve this feat, following BLACKPINK. Other Korean artists with songs that have entered the Canadian Hot 100 chart include BTS, PSY, BIGBANG and EXO.
Elsewhere on Billboard this week, Red Velvet’s “The Perfect Red Velvet” is at No. 5 on the World Albums chart (after coming in at No. 3 last week), and “Bad Boy” is No. 2 on the World Digital Song Sales chart.
Congratulations Red Velvet on achieving a new milestone!
