Winters can be harsh. The constant cold winds, snow and pollution can take a massive toll on your skin. As someone who loves skincare, Korea is one of the best places to be. I often get questions about what to do in winter for skincare. Since I love trying new products, I am in a constant state of flux with products. It’s rare that I really stick with a product for a long time, but for my winter products I have a pretty set line up this year to share with all of you.
First and foremost, cleansing is extremely important. In winter, some soaps can dry your skin out more, which is why its important to choose something mild that also cleans well. For that, April Skin’s Magic Stone is perfect. I’ve previously written about this product on my personal blog back in May. I have yet to find a cleaner that I love more than the Magic Stone. (Read my previous post here for a more in-depth review.)
Secondly, face masks. Winter is a pretty stressful time for many reasons, including midterms and final exams for students, or even just having the winter blues. So for winter, I tend to pick facemasks which are thicker or heavier than the summer time ones. This year, I have added four new face masks to my must have lists.
The first is the Entia No Filter Moisturizing face mask. This is a good mask to use in the morning to start off your day with, as it includes a powder vitamin C ampoule which really brightened my skin up. I got tons of compliments on my skin the morning I used it.
The next three are actually all part of a line based on Vitamin Water! Pink is “After Overwork”, blue is “After Test” and yellow is “After All-night” . The thing I love about these packs is that the moisturizer in them is extremely thick. There is enough extra in the pack that you can generously coat your neck as well, which is also an important part of skincare that many people tend to forget. After a particularly bad day, these always help my skin recover. Plus, the theme of Vitamin Water is pretty fun, don’t you think? These masks are just my current winter line up, but I’ve previously mentioned some of my year round favorites here. Feel free to check it out and ask any questions about your own skin, and which products would be best for you.
And finally, what’s most important in winter is that you use a thick moisturizer for your skin. I am currently using the SkinFood Black Pomegranate moisturizer. For the price, I’ve found its moisturizing without feeling greasy, and it absorbs well into your skin. It also has an anti wrinkle effect, which is also great. If you have sensitive, dry skin, I recommend this one as it’s pretty cheap. But if you have other skin problems, drop a comment below or on my personal blog, and I will do my absolute best to find some awesome products for you as well.
I hope that these products will help you out during the cold, dark winter. I’ll be back with more beauty reviews soon. If you have any specific products you are curious about, leave a comment and I’ll check it out.
Until then, make sure to take care of your skin!
