Korean online retailer Interpark announces the list of Top albums for the year 2017!
On December 27th, Interpark announced the online voting results for the top albums in the year 2017. The voting took place from November 23rd to December 17th, with a total of 663,619 votes registered. The nominees for 2017 album of the year, were chosen based on album sales and the recommendations of Interpark’s managing directors.
EXO’s “The War”, achieved Album of the Year taking the first place with an impressive 37.9 percent votes. “The War” was released in July, and its repackaged album “THE WAR: The Power of Music”, released in September recorded a total sales of 1,592,792, making it EXO’s highest selling album till date.
At the second place, Wanna One with their debut album “1X1=1 (TO BE ONE)”, that gained 37.89 percent votes, falling short of only 52 votes from the first place. It also recorded the highest number of sales on Interpark for any K-pop album, this year.
BTS’s “Love Yourself: Her” at the third position, with 11.62 percent votes. This album being BTS’s biggest hit, set various records including the notable No. 7 spot on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States, which is the highest rank ever achieved by a K-pop artist.
NU’EST W’s “W, HERE” rounded out the top five with 1.25 percent votes, following the operatic pop quartet Forte di Quattro’s self-titled album at fourth place, gaining 2.15 percent vote.
