Fantagio‘s employees may be on strike.
Last month, founder and co-CEO Na Byung Jun exonerated from the role of CEO after being fired from his position by the JC Group. That consists of a Chinese company that owns the largest portion of 50.07% of the agency. After joining together with the Korean branch Gold Finance Korea to make the purchase.
Currently, the Chinese co-CEO, Wei Jie, has assumed the position as sole responsible for the label. But the Fantagio team expressed their intention to protest.
On January 2, Fantagio’s team said: “If the CEO Na Byung Jun will back in his position. And the Korean shareholder of the Chinese shareholder does not interrupt his illegal intervention. We will not file in our business practices. The employees will go on a general strike. “ However, staff still cited unfair transfers and termination of employees.
They stated: “Along with the resignation of the CEO Na Byung Jun, there were other unfair transfers and terminations. We have given our position to shareholders and are awaiting a response. Trying our best to resolve the situation through dialogue. We will do our best to minimize the impact this will have on our artists. But we will not hesitate in a general strike if necessary.”
Fantagio is home to artists such as Hello Venus, ASTRO, Weki Meki, and Wanna One‘s Ong Seong Wu. As well actors as Seo Kang Joon, Myung Gong, Kang Han Na, Lee Ji Hoon, and more. So stay tuned for updates.
