EXO has achieved a new milestone as they break their own record with their most recent album “The War”!
EXO‘s fourth studio album “The War” becomes their best-selling album. According to Gaon Chart, “The War” has recorded an impressive 1,592,792 copies sold as of November 30th, with the original album having sold 1,086,307 copies. The repackaged edition “The War: The Power of Music” also sold 506,485 copies.
With almost 1.6 million albums sold “The War” is EXO’s best-selling album since their debut in 2012 so far. It is also currently the best-selling K-pop album of 2017. “The War” featured the title track “Ko Ko Bop” which also currently holds the record for staying first place on Gaon Chart’s digital chart the longest, without pause for four consecutive weeks and has surpassed 1 million in digital downloads as well.
Earlier this year EXO gained the title of “quadruple million seller” in just 24 days of the release of “The War” on July 19th. The group’s first studio album “XOXO” and the subsequent second album “EXODUS” and third studio album “EX’ACT” also surpassed one million in sales, making “The War” the group’s fourth album to hit the one million mark.
Meanwhile, EXO is preparing to release their annual winter special album on December 21st, and will be continuing their fourth concert tour “EXO PLANET #4 – The EℓyXiOn” with concerts in Fukuoka on December 22nd- 24th.
