Dispatch reveals the latest messages that SHINee’s Jonghyun exchanged with his friend hours before he passed away.
On December 18, SHINee member Jonghyun was found unconscious in a residential hotel in Cheongdam-dong – Seoul. Then the same night came the official statement of his death. Police have suspected that the cause of Jonghyun’s death is a suicide. Caused by a strong depression.
According to police, Jonghyun sent text messages to his older sister, already announcing about his death. In the text messages it read as follows: “It was difficult,” “Let me go, tell me that I have worked hard, this is my farewell.”
Realizing the messages were suicide messages, his sister approached the police around 4:42 PM (KST). When police found him, around 6:10 PM, he was unconscious and in cardiac arrest at the time. Immediately they took him to the hospital and he was officially declared dead at night.
And because of the substance found burning and the messages, the police suspected that it was really suicide. ‘A’ is a 5 year old friend of Jonghyun. He states that he often exchanged deep conversations with the idol star about his concerns.
‘A’ met with the Dispatch and shared about the last conversation he had with Jonghyun before his death.
He said, “I met him on December 1. He said he’s still having trouble, but I did not think it would be like that.”
“A” states that the root of Jonghyun’s affliction was music. His friend explained, “He said he felt like he was not keeping an eye on expectations, he wanted to do better, but he felt he was lacking in talent, he was fighting, saying he would fall when he got older.”
According to this friend of Jonghyun, the idol was really very distressed by his music. “A” went on to explain, “He had no problem in his personal life, his relationship with his mother and his sister was great, and every Jonghyun had music, but he often blames himself for saying he has no talent.”
“Is it going to get better if I just take it?” Jonghyun asked his close friend ‘A’.
Who replied, “I still recommend you visit a hospital.” The friend told him to do the recommended treatment. However, Jonghyun shook his head. And he said, “I got treatment, but it’s not getting better …”
The friend shared that Jonghyun then began to talk about death.
“A” stated, “Even though he has many friends, it is abrupt to talk about such concerns. “He often spoke to me about the death in early December, I believed he would have overcome it.” His friend added, “He could not sleep without sleeping pills. He often slept while he was talking on the phone all night, and he was holding on … I did not know this would become our last conversation.”
When the friend finally said, “It looked like he was just hanging from day to day, I was hoping he would continue until the end, but now I just hope he leaves all his worries and rests comfortably.”
After official confirmation of the death, SM Entertainment came out publicly and published an official note on the shocking subject. That caught all Kpop fans and artists by surprise.
