Colombian television program is accused of encouraging racist acts during soccer game broadcast between South Korea and Colombia for the 2018 World Cup.

During the broadcast of the game between South Korea and Colombia. Pictures of the broadcast caught a racist act by player Edwin Cardona against Korean captain Ki Sung Yong.

The Colombian player makes racist gestures and tilts his head as he pulls his eyes. The captain of the Korean team later spoke about the incident. Saying that dirty play happens from time to time but that racial discrimination should not be tolerated. Many fans of the Korean team expressed their anger against Cardona, who later apologized to the Colombian Football Association for causing “misunderstandings.”

More racism does not stop there! Soon after the episode in the field, a program in the Colombian television caused a great controversy. The “La Kalle” program was discussing what happened. But even after the Colombian player’s “apology”, the hosts continue to mock the Korean players. Using facial masks and imitating Cardona’s gesture, pulling his eyes with his hands.

But this is not the first time that Colombian TV receives accusations of committing racist acts against Asians. BTS also suffered an episode of intolerance. In the “Dia Dia” program, the presenter made a gesture of the eyes pulled while showing a segment on the boys of the group.

However, the Korean football team ended up winning the match 2-0. With goals from Son Heung Min, who currently plays for the English team of Tottenham.
