BTS‘s Suga melted fans’ heart by keeping his promise and celebrated his birthday with a generous donation to 39 orphanages.
BTS‘s rapper Suga, who turned 25 years old (26 Korean age) on March 9th, made this day even more meaningful for many orphan kids. Suga sent Korean beef as a gift, to 39 orphanages as a way to keep his promise he had made to fans, years ago. The number 39 corresponds to the number of his birth month and day.
During a fan signing event back in September 18, 2014, Suga had promised fans that he would buy them beef after he made a lot of money and became successful. A year later, during a fan-star interview, the fan asked him the day when he would fulfill his promise. To which Suga wrote “2018.03.09,” his 25th birthday.
This year on the very day promised, Suga kept his word and donated beef to multiple orphanages in Daegu, his hometown. A source from Big Hit Entertainment officially confirmed saying, “For Suga’s birthday on March 9, he donated Korean beef to 39 orphanages under the name of BTS’s fan club ‘ARMY.’” They added, “Since Suga couldn’t have a meat party together with his fans, he made the donation under the name of ARMY instead of his own, to express his gratitude to his fans.”
A post was uploaded online on March 9th, which also shared that Suga had sent 10 kilograms (approximately 22 pounds) of prime Korean beef with confirmation documents as well as signed BTS albums to several orphanages.
The fact that Suga remembered his promise, made years ago and his generous act has deeply touched netizen’s heart.
We wish Suga a very happy and prosperous birthday!
