The new year has just begun and BTS has already set a another new record! BTS‘s “MIC Drop” remix has now been on Billboard’s HOT 100 chart the longest any K-pop group track has ever been!
On January 3rd, Billboard updated its charts for the week ending in January 6th, and BTS‘s “MIC Drop” remix (remixed by DJ Steve Aoki and featuring rapper Desiigner) took the 82nd spot on the Hot 100 chart. This records the fifth consecutive week, “MIC Drop” remix has been on the chart, which measures the most popular sons in the United States.
By charting on the Hot 100 chart for the fifth week in a row, BTS‘s “MIC Drop” remix has now beaten the group’s previous record for the K-pop groups, which “DNA” set with four consecutive weeks on the HOT 100 chart.
BTS also remains on many other Billboard charts this week. The group’s latest mini album “Love Yourself: Her” is spending its twelfth week on the Billboard 200 chart, now rising to No.106, and also maintains the No.1 spot on the World Albums chart. BTS also continues have a strong hold at the No. 1 position on the Social 50 chart.
Previously, on the first day on the new year, BTS’s “MIC Drop” (remix) MV also surpassed 100 million YouTube views becoming the group’s twelfth track to do so,setting a new record.
