Box- office hit movie “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds” has surpassed 10 million movie-goers, becoming the first movie of the year to reach this impressive feat.
On January 4th, the movie’s distributor Lotte Entertainment revealed that, “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds” exceeded 10 million moviegoers, just 16 days since its release. This means it is the second fastest Korean movie to reach this milestone right behind “The Admiral: Roaring Currents,” the current record-holder of most movie-goers of all time for a Korean movie.
With this, “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds” has now joined the 10 million movie-goers club, becoming the overall 16th Korean movie and 20th movie release domestically to do so.
Along with this record, movie’s director Kim Yong Hwa, has also set a personal record of 8 million movie-goes with the movie “Take Off,” and “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds” has become Lotte Entertainment’s first movie to reach 10 million moviegoers.
The star-studded cast of “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds” celebrated this moment and shared photos on surpassing 10 million movie-goers. The cast wrote their messages on a paper, thanking the viewers for giving the movie so much love, holding which they all took pictures.
Director Kim Yong Hwa also commented, “I’m thankful and surprised every day. There are no sufficient words to express my feelings other than thank you. I am most happy to have been able to connect with many audience members. I will work hard to create the second part and show a movie that meets expectations. I hope you are able to feel warmth through the movie in this cold weather.”
Congratulations to the entire team, cast and crew of “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds” !
